About Meghan Leahy<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=” margin-right_60px m-margin-right_0px ” el_right_margin=”margin-right_60px”]Ever since I can remember, I have always had a passion for working with children and families. From teaching English in an all-boys school or studying to become a school counselor, I loved the ever-changing dynamics of family and children.<\/p>\n

Watching children grow and learn was an endless source of amazement to me, and I truly loved teaching. I had a good understanding of the importance of the parents, but it was not until I had my own children that I began to fully understand how challenging parenthood could be.<\/p>\n

I clearly remember the day that I had run out of ideas with my eldest child.\u00a0 I was pregnant with my second girl, and my first would not do anything I asked her to do.\u00a0 At 2.5, she and I were having epic power struggles.\u00a0 I clearly remember my amazement at the intensity of this little girl, and how I was utterly stymied to help her or myself.\u00a0 I felt angry, frustrated, out of control, fatigued and deep down, very scared.<\/p>\n

Questions floated through my head:<\/h2>\n

What if I raise a horrible kid?
\nWhat if I fail?
\nWhat if she hates me?
\nWhat if I cannot stand her?
\nWhat if she is this difficult forever?
\nWhat if all of my kids are like this?
\nCan I handle this parenthood thing???<\/b>
\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]My fear was paralyzing and despite the help of my lovely spouse, I felt very alone.\u00a0 \u201cCertainly, no one must be struggling like this,\u201d I thought.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, I was wrong.<\/p>\n

Everything changed when I got support.<\/p>\n

Through parenting classes, reading, and therapy for myself, I began to learn about the brain and human development, what good connections look and feel like between parent and child, and what I can change (only myself) and what I couldn\u2019t change (everyone else).<\/p>\n

In this time of learning, I found what was missing in my work: working directly with the parents![\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_widget_sidebar sidebar_id=”sidebar”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”” parallax=”” parallax_image=”” css=”.vc_custom_1518572819446{margin-top: 0px !important;margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1518572834820{margin-top: 0px !important;margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

A change in the parents meant a change in the children.\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/h1>\n

\nYes, parent coaching is a career, but for me, it is also a calling.\u00a0 I believe that no situation is too dire, no child is too far-gone, and no parent is too discouraged to begin to change right now, right away.<\/p>\n

My mission is to help you bring lightness, laughter, and love into your home.\u00a0 To help joyfulness and tranquility find a place at the table.\u00a0 To teach you to forgive yourself when you are human and move forward.\u00a0 To feel in control and optimistic about the future, and to have fun with your family.\u00a0 The theory and practice you will learn have helped me at the different ages and stages of my children, as well as transitions in my own personal life.<\/p>\n

I am a heart-centered parent coach in a data-driven world. Because, let\u2019s face it, we have all the data we need at our fingertips, all of the time.<\/p>\n

Now we need to use our hearts.<\/p>\n
