Here is my advice for now:<\/p>\n

1) \u00a0If the power is on, let them watch TV. \u00a0You will miss it when it is gone.<\/p>\n

2) \u00a0Don’t eat all the junk at once. \u00a0You need to have something to look forward to when you are sick of applesauce.<\/p>\n

3) \u00a0Parents, I know the joke is to stock up on beer and wine…but don’t start the “drink every time they SURGE<\/strong> on the news” game. \u00a0You will be hung over AND trapped with your kids, which is the Worst. \u00a0Possible. \u00a0Thing. \u00a0Ever.<\/p>\n

4) \u00a0Bust out the toys, crafts and games you never play because they too annoying, complicated, too many parts, etc. \u00a0NOW is the time to play those horrible things and make the kids happy.<\/p>\n

5) \u00a0Keep a positive attitude, especially when the siblings start killing each other. \u00a0You can easily get sucked into the drama. \u00a0Don’t. \u00a0Break up the fights silently and give them jobs. \u00a0Worst case scenario? \u00a0Put them in a room and go into another part of the house. \u00a0Just try to keep your cool.<\/p>\n

6) \u00a0Don’t go outside. \u00a0Don’t let them play outside. \u00a0Don’t go for walks. \u00a0(This is a DUH, but I have to say it anyway).<\/p>\n

7) \u00a0Remember, eventually the power\u00a0will<\/em> come back on. \u00a0Life\u00a0will\u00a0<\/em>return to normal. \u00a0Take it day by day, or hour by hour, or minute by minute. \u00a0Stay safe.<\/p>\n
