I love this Meghan! One of the main reason’s I choose to homeschool my children is to develop a life long love of learning, rather than just going through the motions.
Thanks for a great article. I love listening to your videos – you are real! I also love learning. I loved taking tests in school – hated and bored with school, but loved taking tests. Had a 4.0 grade average until I dropped out in the beginning of my senior year to get married. (Not because I had to but because I was spoiled rotten and was showing people I’d do what I pleased! 🙁 I guess we learn from our mistakes!!) I don’t pay a lot of attention to my kids report cards either – but I do check to see where their grades are to see if they are having trouble. My kids all did very well in school. My 15 yr. old has a mild learning disability and an IEP – but he still does very well in school. A very long winded way of saying I agree 100% with you that learning is important – school not so much.
